Underworlds, version 1.2, from Pixel Mine is now available on the AppStore. We first took a look at this game on our blog in this post. I am happy to report that the new city and mountain fortress areas are awesome to explore and the world has been greatly expanded.
You will find that clicking on items is much easier than in the prior version as a multi-function button has been provided on the right side of the screen which is context sensitive and knows when you want to fight, talk or pick up items.

The online ranking system has changed and you now have just 3 different leader board categories to get onto: Most Gold Collected, Most Kills, and Treasures Found. It seems to load much quicker than the prior version.

The menu options and interface has been updated as well and is more usable. The health and mana bubbles have been moved to the top of the screen and a pause/continue button provides access to the game functions.

Another new feature is the quest journal to provide you with feedback on you progress toward completing quests. And finally, the maximum level has been raised to 50 and there are two new feats that can be learned.

Underworlds is an RPG for the iPhone that plays a lot like Diablo. Your adventure begins by choosing from two different male and two different female avatars. Give your chosen avatar a name, choose from four different difficulties and you find yourself standing in the woods in front of McTavish. He’ll have you start your killing spree by dispatching an orc. Kill the orc and McTavish will open a portal so you can quickly travel to a pub where your real adventure begins.
As you slay the denizens inhabiting the Underworlds you’ll gain experience, gold, potions and gear. The quality of drops range from “white/gray” (mundane) colored tags to “gold” (legendary) tags which representing their worth.

Each item you find can have several different attributes represented in this screenshot.

When you level up you can spend points to upgrade your stats and feats. With a maximum level of 10 you won’t be upgrading a lot, but the choices you see here will have you slaying everything in Extreme mode with little difficulty and without having to chug many potions. You will find that the gear you collect and equip has more effect on your ability to slay the evil denizens.
