Dungeons & Dragons Online has opened a preview server, Lamannia so that you can check out Update 1 content and changes before they get pushed to the live servers.
The preview server is open to active account holders and requires you to download the DDO Unlimited and TDM clients for the preview server. If you decide to take part in the preview you will find your Turbine Point balance from live servers as of September 30th, 2009 and you will also find your active characters if you logged in between April 29, 2008 and December 29, 2008.

The newest RPG from BioWare, Dragon Age Origins will be released for XBox 360 and PC on the 3rd of November. The PS3 version will follow later in the month. BioWare announced yesterday that the game will come with Blood Dragon Armor which will also be usable in the upcoming sequel, Mass Effect 2.
If you preorder the game you get the Memory Band, which adds 1% to your XP and also adds one skill point. The Collector’s Edition comes with a steel case, cloth map, bonus DVD, 3 in-game items, The Stone Prisoner downloadable bonus quest and downloadable character, Shale.
I checked around the various e-tailers to see what exclusive bonus items are being offered with preorders for the game and here is what I found:
- Feral Wolf Charm – Adds to armor and increases health regeneration.
- Band of Fire – Adds stamina, fire and spirit resistance
- Lion’s Paw boots – Adds to armor, dodge and evasion
- $10 off future game purchase
- Dalish Ring – Increased healing effects, minus damage from darkspawn attacks and increased combat health regen
- Guildmaster’s Belt – increase monetary gain, adds to cunning, increases chance to dodge attacks

In addition to exhibitions, events and music, they are holding tournaments each day for games such as Call of Duty 4, Guitar hero, Halo 3, Madden 10, Super Smash Brothers and others. Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend.
Everquest posted a notice to the EQ Players site that they are now accepting invitations to participate in the beta for the game’s 16th expansion, Underfoot. The beta period will begin on October 20th and end on December 1st, 2009.
The Underfoot expansion brings lots of giants for you to fight including the Ancient Cyclops, Lord Brekt, Tzudani and the Emissary of Veeshan. Check out the expansion website for more details.
Hotfix 13.1 was pushed to servers this morning. Here are the changes from the publish notes.
- the person holding a Chronicles Holocron may now share that holocron quest with themself
- reduced the cost of many Chronicle Token rewards
- tweaked up Chronicles XP for holocron creation
- Quest Builder can now be resized vertically
- you can now view your average Chronicle rating, total ratings, and the last time you received a rating in the Character sheet, under the Personal tab. (NOTE: there is currently a known bug with the rating/total ratings values.)
- No trade shared items on vendor should now be displayed “No Trade Shared” when examined
