With just two days to go until general availability of Fallen Earth, the post-apocalyptic “wasteland” styled MMO RPG, is the game ready for you to log in and enjoy the experience?

Virtually every MMO I’ve played on opening day has had their share of problems with everything from constant crashes, laggy game play, poor FPS, and other bugs. Taking a look at this thread in the game forums it would appear that the 22nd may come too soon for this game.

Quoting user Slake:

I think with the proper computer yes. My buddy plays on a single core machine and has issues all the time. He enters oilville, embry, kingman, etc etc (big cities) and crashes. He goes to needle eye (no one is ever there) and is fine.

For me on a dual core system i run with 150+ fps in the wilderness, and about 60 FPS in the crowded cities. There are still random crashes for no reason at all, but I am sure those are being worked on.

For people with sub-par machines, you should think about upgrading if you want to experience the game the best.

and ferix:

I’d say no right now, I’m crashing constantly in towns with lots of people running around. My FPS is fine in and out (150+ out of towns, 60-70 in) so its not my end, but the server is having problems with large amounts of players in proximity. I exepct the town crash issue is their top priority as its the only real show stopper I’ve encountered so far, bar the Junk Fortress issues. These need to be fixed before more people come in, although I expect most players have already signed up for the game and are playing.

It seems this game too will fall into the trap of release early and patch often, even if the game isn’t ready. As we’ve seen with many MMOs this is a recipe that tends to kill subscriptions after the 30 days of included free play is over. Which would be a sad thing to happen as it offers some unique gameplay elements and provides a great setting for the MMO genre for anyone looking to experience the Wasteland or Fallout experience in a persistent world. What has your experience been with the game? Is it ready?
