The patch notes for Game Update 13 for Star Wars Galaxies were posted yesterday and here are some of the highlights:
- A new questing system is being created, the Chronicles Master System. This system lets players create their own quests for other players to enjoy. When you log in you’ll receive the Chronicles Starter Kit and a window will pop up describing the new Chronicle Master System.
- The Vendor and Bazaar systems are being greatly enhanced. You will now be able to search by attribute. The price limit on the bazaar has been increased to 10 million credits. And the the price limit on vendors has been increased to 833.33 million credits.
- You will be able to store up to 3 billion credits per character in the Galactic Reserve banks (Mos Eisley, Theed and Coronet). You can withdraw up to 1 billion credits at a time from the Galactic Reserves.
Are you going to be creating quests? Is this a good idea? I remember in Everquest where for a brief one week period or so (until it was quickly pulled anyway) players could be a mob such as a bee or other critter that players would normally fight and you could then play this “smart npc” and attack the players. The only thing is there were no markings to indicate you were any different than any other bee or wasp. This was the funnest experience I ever had in Everquest and there was intense enjoyment from chasing the newbies around and then running away as they tried to hit you. It was quickly abused and pulled from the game and as far as I know never returned. Will player run quests turn out the same way?
